Born and raised in Washington D.C., I grew up creating. Since I can remember, I was constantly drawing, painting, and picture-taking. I remember my feeling of excitement everytime I walked down the art supplies aisle at stores. I also recall childhood memories of my desire to create television commercials, design costumes, and create elaborate drawings of imaginary places for children's books.

Since then, I have journeyed from visual art, dabbled in the third dimension, and found my way to photography. Through this journey, the world both culturally and naturally has always been a huge influence to me as an artist. I have been blessed with a multicultural background and have been exposed to an array of places and people, adventures and experiences.

I spent hours at my high school in the darkroom, honing my skills while surrounded by the mixed forests of the Berkshire mountains of Western Massachusetts. After graduating high school, I took time off to travel, which is another great love in my life. While abroad in Costa Rica, I was accepted to Warren Wilson College in Asheville, North Carolina. I became a visual arts and outdoor education major. I soon realized my interest in photography and graphics were growing stronger, and decided to move back to Washington D.C. to move my art education in this new direction. Upon returning to home, I began taking photography classes at Montgomery College, and consistently attended open darkrooms at Glen Echo Photoworks and Arlington Community Art Center.

Soon after college, I began working in the restaurant industry. I have worked in this industry for 15 years, while freelancing in photography. The restaurant industry not only helped me rediscover my passion for food, drink, design, and hospitality; but also helped me break out of my shyness/social anxiety bubble. I owe so much to this industry for not only helping me discover where my passions lie, but also for rediscovering myself. I have worked in many different positions, each one teaching me so much. Most recently, my passion has been in the wine industry. I have studied to become a sommelier and enjoy talking about and teaching wine in length.

Through the pandemic, I have developed a huge passion for food & wine photography, as well as food styling. It has been the greatest fulfillment in my photography career so far. Post-pandemic, I have experience shooting for restaurants, with features in a few publications. In my spare time, I have become a recipe developer. I style and shoot all of my creations. Please be sure to check out my Instagram handles! I still maintain my love for shooting places near and far, people from all walks of life, wilderness, and wild creatures. Whenever I travel, I look at it as another photography opportunity. I am blessed to have had many travel experiences from South America, to Pakistan, and South East Asia. I believe new eyes in new places and first hand experience and discovery are what create the best photos.

My education and experiences have provided me with a solid foundation in black and white film and digital photography. My work has adapted to the many,  fast changing technological advancements. (I can't believe there was a time I was just shooting with b&w film!!!) In graphic design, I have a working knowledge in Dreamweaver and I am proficient in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. I use Lightroom and Photoshop for editing my work, and have developed advanced proficiency in both.

I believe my best qualities include my enthusiasm and creative thinking. I am incredibly useful as part of a team, working with people. I do most of my work independently, though working with people as my subject has been a great pleasure. I enjoy working hard and multi-tasking. I have impeccable patience and a great eye for detail. I am always looking for new experiences and adventures to add to my collection. My work includes food and restaurant, travel and landscape, engagement and wedding, baby bump to family portraits, lifestyle and headshots, still-life, and abstract. My work has been featured in publications such as Eater, Jetset Times, and Petworth News, as well as various websites and social media platforms for clients.
